Chief Executive Officer

John has been working in the renewable power industry for over 20 years.  As Chief Executive Officer, John is responsible for all elements of Cordelio’s business, with a particular focus on strategic direction, growth, operations, and finance.

Prior to joining Cordelio, he was the CEO at Alterra Power Corporation until the company was sold to Innergex and has previously served in senior renewable leadership positions at GE Energy Financial Services, Terra-Gen Power, and Noble Environmental Power.

John holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University.

Paul Rapp

Paul Rapp

Chief Operating Officer

Paul has spent over 35 years in renewable power. As Chief Operating Officer, he oversees operations, construction, and development for all Cordelio’s projects.

Prior to joining Cordelio, Paul led project development and operations at Alterra Power where he provided operational, project development, and construction leadership for wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal power projects, and BC Hydro, where he focused on the design, construction, operations, and maintenance of hydropower projects.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of British Columbia and is a registered professional engineer.

Nick Karambelas

Chief Commercial Officer

Nick has over 11 years of experience in the renewable energy industry. As Chief Commercial Officer, Nick heads Cordelio’s project finance team and is key a leader across Cordelio’s growth efforts, including acquisitions, development partnerships, and new project origination.

Prior to Cordelio, he was the Senior Director of Finance and Power Origination at Innergex and the Director of Project Finance and Development at Alterra Power. At Cordelio and in prior roles, Nick has completed over US$2.5 billion of project financings delivering a total nameplate capacity of over 1.1 GW.

Nick holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia.

Chris Hind

Chief Financial Officer

Chris joined Cordelio in 2022 with more than 25 years of experience in public accounting, investment banking and private equity investment sectors with the last 12 years focused on the energy sector. As Chief Financial Officer, Chris leads Cordelio’s finance, accounting, tax, planning and analysis functions, and is a key leader in the company’s strategy and M&A activities.

Prior to joining Cordelio, Chris was a Managing Director in the Sustainable Energies Group (“SEG”) at CPP Investments with leadership responsibility for renewable power investments in the Americas. He represented CPP Investments as a board member of Cordelio Power, Puget Sound Energy and Pattern Energy, as well as other companies in the mid-stream sector in North and South America.  Prior to CPP Investments he spent 18 years in a variety of investment and merchant banking roles, including Managing Director and Head of Energy M&A, at CIBC Capital Markets.

Chris holds a Master of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto Rotman where he was a Governor General Gold Medalist and a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

Luke Pangman

Luke Pangman

General Counsel & Senior Vice President, Transactions

Luke has over 10 years of experience in renewable power, M&A, and finance. As Senior Vice President & General Counsel, he oversees all legal matters, and is actively involved in Cordelio’s corporate development and M&A, finance, and project development.

Prior to Cordelio, he worked at Alterra Power, and subsequently Innergex, where he led the negotiation and execution of M&A, debt, and equity finance transactions, commercial, offtake and supply arrangements, and other matters associated with the development, finance, construction, and operation of renewable energy assets.

Luke holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia. He is a member of the law society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association.

Brenda LeMay

Brenda LeMay

Senior Vice President, Origination & Structuring

Brenda has spent over 30 years in the energy industry. As Senior Vice President of Origination and Structuring, Brenda leads Cordelio’s revenue efforts with a focus on offtake negotiations. In addition to her origination expertise, she has been involved with renewable energy projects during all stages of their lifecycle, with particular focus on project development.

Prior to joining Cordelio, she worked with EDP Renewables and its predecessors, Ocean Renewable Power Company, SunEdison, and Enel.

Brenda holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley Haas School of Business and a Bachelor of Science from Bentley University.

Daniel Foley

Innovation Leader

Daniel has over 34 years in the energy sector with experience developing, building, owning, and operating energy projects throughout North America.  As Cordelio’s Innovation Leader, he is responsible for developing energy storage solutions and overcoming financial, technical, and regulatory challenges to green power.

Prior to joining Cordelio, Daniel was the CEO of GlidePath Power and CEO of the North American division of Acciona Energy, one of the world’s leading renewable companies.

Daniel holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Master of Engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Notre Dame.

Tudor Barcan

Tudor Barcan

Vice President, Strategy & Corporate Development

Tudor has over 8 years of leadership and experience in principal investing and building businesses in the renewable power sector across both private and public equity markets, as well as in an investment banking advisory role.  Tudor works closely with senior management and the Board of Directors to formulate and execute the company’s corporate vision and strategy, as well as oversees strategic investments with a focus on the integration of new technologies and evolving business models.

Prior to joining Cordelio, Tudor was an investment professional within the Sustainable Energy Group at CPP Investments focused on platform acquisitions and investment strategy across the North American, European, and select Asian markets-including the development strategy formation and launch for Cordelio Power and Renewable Power Capital in Europe. Prior to that, he worked as an advisory professional with Greentech Capital Advisors in San Francisco, focused on cleantech M&A and late-stage venture capital formation.

Tudor is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a specialization in Finance from the University of British Columbia.

Sarah Chin

Sarah Chin

Vice President, Corporate Controller

Sarah has over 15 years of public and private accounting experience and over 10 years in renewable power.  Sarah oversees accounting, financial reporting and internal control policies for Cordelio and its subsidiaries.  She has previously worked at Potentia Renewables Inc. and Brookfield Renewable Partners, where she held various positions in financial planning and analysis, corporate accounting, and reporting.

Her industry and public accounting experience includes leading process and system improvements and technical accounting research for complex accounting transactions.  Prior to joining the renewables industry, she was a part of the assurance group at Ernst & Young LLP.  

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. 

Jon Morrison

Jon Morrison

Vice President, Finance

Jon has over 15 years of experience in accounting, corporate finance and financial planning and analysis, and over 8 years in renewable power. Jon oversees corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and insurance for Cordelio and its subsidiaries.

Prior to joining Cordelio, Jon was with Alterra Power and subsequently Innergex, where he led the financial and tax reporting and other financial compliance associated with the management of a portfolio of development and operating US renewable energy assets.  Prior to joining the renewables industry, he was also part of the assurance groups at Ernst & Young and Deloitte.

Jon holds a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University, a Diploma in Accounting from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

Clayton Robinson

Clayton Robinson

Vice President, Grid Integration

Clayton has over 18 years of utility experience in interconnection, operations, engineering, design optimization, safety, and team development. As Vice President of Grid Integration, he leads the company’s transmission and interconnection activities from a market and commercial perspective.

Prior to joining Cordelio, he was with NextEra Energy Resources, where he focused on renewable generation interconnection, asset optimization and technical and strategic solutions for power systems integration. Prior to NextEra, he held leadership positions in engineering and control center operations at ConEd.

Clayton holds a Master of Business Administration from Western New England University, graduate certificate from the Harvard Business School in Leadership Principles as well as a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from New York Institute of Technology, and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College with a concentration in Power Systems and is a PhD candidate at Western New England University.

Ajay Sharma

Ajay Sharma

Vice President, Project Finance and M&A

Ajay has over 12 years of experience in renewable power, as well as experience in corporate finance and commercial/asset management. As Vice President of Project Finance and M&A, he plays a key role in Cordelio’s growth efforts, including project finance, corporate development, offtake origination, mergers, and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Cordelio, he was with Northland Power Inc. where he managed corporate finance and strategy in addition to asset management responsibilities of over a 600 MW portfolio of the company’s gas co-generation, wind, and biomass assets. Before Northland, he was responsible for the portfolio valuations of over $16 billion of renewable power assets at Ernst & Young LLP.

Ajay holds a Bachelor degree of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

Stephanie Bond

Stephanie Bond

Director, Land & Community

Stephanie has over 10 years of renewable power experience with a focus on land, community, and First Nation engagement. She leads Cordelio’s efforts around landowner relations, First Nations matters and community-related agreements. Stephanie and her team work on all phases of the project lifecycle, including development, construction, and operations. She interfaces directly with our project stakeholders and onsite teams to ensure agreement commitments are fulfilled.

Prior to joining Cordelio, she held positions at BC Hydro, Alterra Power and Innergex.

Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, with Honours from Carleton University.

Mayari Guzman-Katz

Mayari Guzman-Katz

Director, Human Resources & Administration

Mayari has over 16 years in renewable power with an additional 10 years in business operations in the financial advisory, legal, and hospitality industry. She leads Cordelio’s Human Resources and Administrative functions.

Prior to joining Cordelio, she was the SVP of Shared Services at GlidePath Power Solutions where she oversaw the human resources, information technology, and administrative functions of the organization. Prior to GlidePath, she was Director of Corporate Services at two law firms in the Chicago area where she was responsible for human resources and business strategy. Mayari began her career in renewable power at Acciona Energy North America in 2007 where, as the Director of Administration, she oversaw a team of information technology professionals, business administrators and managed a multi-phase build out of the North American headquarters of the Energy division.

Mayari holds a Bachelor of Science Commerce with a Marketing concentration from DePaul University and an ABA in Operations Management from the Universidad Tecnológica, Santiago, Chile. She is a member of SHRM and the Chicago Chapter of WRISE.
