Alextra provides electricity distribution services to more than one million homes and businesses across a 1,9242 km service territory in 17 Ontario communities. Alectra maintains $5.7B in total assets and is powered by a workforce of over 1,500 employees.

Previously, Brian was President and CEO of PowerStream, a utility where he led growth from its creation, following the merger of three local electricity utilities in Markham, Richmond Hill, and Vaughan in 2004. He oversaw the acquisition of Aurora Hydro in 2005 and the 2009 merger with Barrie Hydro.

Brian holds a BA (Mathematics) from Western University, and an MBA from McMaster University. He is a Certified Engineer Technologist (CET), a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), and was named a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant. Additionally, he holds an honourary Bachelor of Applied Arts degree from Georgian College and is an award-winning and celebrated thought leader in the utility industry.

Prior to CPP Investments, she was an attorney at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in New York where she negotiated investment documentation and provided tailored advice, risk analysis and due diligence to clients in connection with M&A and financing transactions.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service in International Affairs from Georgetown University, a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society.

Peter is the Managing Director, Portfolio Value Creation at CPPIB and is involved in identifying and implementing value-creation opportunities across their direct equity investments portfolio.

He has led a range of efforts across the Fund’s private equity and real assets; as well as the development of the cross-portfolio approach to platforms. His areas of expertise include EBITDA improvements focusing on cost reduction efforts, carve-outs and post-merger integration, operational due diligence, corporate governance, and management-incentive programs.

Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2014, he was most recently a Director with AlixPartners LLP, where he advised clients on a range of operational efficiency and organizational effectiveness topics.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and a Master of Business Administration from the Ivey Business School at Western University.

Ms. Butler has over 45 years of experience in the energy sector.

Most recently, she was Vice President, Market & Resource Development at the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) until October 2017, and was the Vice President, Electricity Resources at the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) prior to the merger of the two companies in 2015.  She was responsible for the procurement and contracting for all new electricity generation, including renewables, nuclear and gas, as well as providing leadership and direction in the development and evolution of the competitive marketplace for electricity in Ontario and forward-looking policy and analysis of the energy sector.

Prior to joining the OPA in 2008, Ms. Butler was president of TransAlta Mexico and worked in global roles for Amoco Corporation. Expatriate roles included Mexico City, as well as temporary assignments in Egypt and Tunisia, and a five-year assignment in the United Arab Emirates.

Ms. Butler holds a Bachelor of Science (honours) degree in civil engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston. She was an executive of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce for her six years in Mexico, including a two-year term as its president. She received a Chartered Director (C. Dir) designation from the Director’s College in 2010.

She originates, executes, and manages power and distributed energy investments, focused on North America.

Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2019, Edwina was a Director in the private equity team at EFG Hermes, investing in European wind and solar investment as part of EFG’s Vortex renewable energy platform. Before that, Edwina was at Lightsource BP, responsible for asset sales and debt financing of UK solar assets, and Innisfree, a PFI/PPP dedicated infrastructure fund.

Edwina holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford and is a Charted Accountant.

Prior work experience includes Chief Financial Officer of Noble Environmental Power, Chief Investment Officer and Partner at SteelRiver Infrastructure, Managing Director at HSBC Securities, Managing Director at JPMorgan and most recently, Managing Member of C2 Energy Capital, a distributed solar developer. Chris also sat on the Board of Directors of Catch the Wind Inc. as Chair of the Audit Committee.

He holds a Master of Arts in Mathematics from St Catharine’s College from the University of Cambridge and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Michael has served as Corsair Gaming’s Chief Financial Officer since November 2019.

Previously, he worked as a business consultant, including interim Chief Financial Officer work, and advising a large pension fund. From July 2011 to May 2016, Mr. Potter was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Legal Officer at Canadian Solar, a company listed on the Nasdaq Exchange. Prior to that, Mr. Potter spent 10 years in the semiconductor industry holding multiple Chief Financial Officer roles at public companies including Lattice Semiconductor Corporation, Neophotonics and STATS ChipPac. He also worked for six years at Honeywell in various financing and accounting positions, and at KPMG in Montreal as an auditor.

Mr. Potter is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Concordia University and a Graduate Diploma of Public Accountancy from McGill University.
